Mattie Stepanek

1) Who was Mattie Stepanek?
     Mattie Stepanek was American poet. He was a peace advocate and motivational speaker.

2) Why do you think he was famous ?
     In my own opinion he was famous because of his poem which can inspired and motivated other people.

3) What is posthumously?
    posthumously is happening after someone's death, or given to someone or printed of after their death.


4) What does President Jimmy Carter means when he said, 
"We have known kings and queens, and we've known presidents and prime ministers, but the most extraordinary person whom I have ever known in my life is Mattie Stepanek. His life philosophy was 'Remember to play after every storm!' and his motto was: 'Think Gently, Speak Gently, Live Gently'. He wanted to be remembered as "a poet, a peacemaker, and a philosopher who played".

 In my own opinion, President Jimmy Carter means we know Mattie Stepanek because he want inspired other people through his difficulties . And he want people to live in peace in their own live eventhough we has big problem in our live.

1. Did Oprah have a happy childhood? How do you know? 

     Oprah did not have a happy childhood. This is because she was born to unwed teenage

     parents and had enormous obstacles in front of her. When she spend living with her mother she 

     will suffered both physical and mental abuse from her family and friends of her family.

2. Was Sidney Poitier an inspiring for her? How?
Sidney Poitier was inspiring Oprah Winfrey. When Oprah watching television , she saw    Sidney Poitier, a young African American recieve an Academy Award. From that moment, she knows  she can be a successful person like a young African American.

           I like this song because this song shows the feelings of the children are grateful to her mother and she strives to be like her mother. Her mother always taught him to always be kind to everyone. Her mother has always supported every step she took in her life. Sometimes, when she was in fear, she prayed the same as her mother wanted him to do.

          When she lost confidence, she knews she was strong like her mother.She always take care of her behavior and be able to make friends with anyone as her mother wanted him to do.  Finally, she was grateful for what her mother did to her so she could go far and become a successful person.
